Yerlilerden gidersek aynı anda hem Cüneyt Arkın, hem Ediz Hun’dur.

İlk filmini 1955 yılında Toei Stüdyosu için çekti. En son 2005 yapımı Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles \ Qian li zou dan qi ‘da izledik.

Yakuza sinemasının babasıdır. Soğuk ve koruyucu, yeri geldiği zaman şefkatlidir.

1975 yılında Sydney Pollack’ın The Yakuza’sında Robert Mitchum ile karşılıklı döktürünce uluslararası piyasada tanındı.

En bilinen cümlesi Black Rain’de Michael Douglas’a sarf ettiği “I do speak fucking English”’dir.
